Dahlias | Glastonbury Murals

The mural Dahlias, painted by Jon Minshull, is a striking additions to the streets of Glastonbury. Completed in April 2024, the work transforms the side wall of Heart of The Tribe Gallery into a bold floral display, positioned prominently beside the town’s United Reformed Church. The mural is dominated by oversized dahlias, rendered in saturated colour and layered detail. Commissioned by gallery owner Julian Clark, the piece was created to mark Glastonbury’s success in the Glastonbury in Bloom competition, linking the artwork directly to the town’s horticultural identity. The popularity of the design has extended beyond the wall itself, with smaller reproductions made available through the gallery, allowing the work to circulate in a more personal, portable form. Overall, Dahlias stands as a clear example of how contemporary mural work in Glastonbury continues to blend community celebration with strong visual impact.
