Star Face, by Jon Sikoh. 1 St John's Square
Star Face is a mural by Jon Sikoh, part of the wider Glastonbury Mural Trail. It is listed painted on a wall located in St John’s Square (BA6 9JJ), The mural depicts a reclined, hooded figure stretched along the wall, its body rendered in subdued greys while the surrounding environment shifts into saturated purples and blues. The figure’s face is replaced by a constellation of stars. In one hand, the figure holds a dandelion, with another standing nearby, The held dandelion seeds either drift in the air or poised to scatter.
Sikoh’s background in graffiti, primarily letter-based work, shows in the clean linework and controlled shading. Interpretively, the piece sits comfortably within Glastonbury’s visual language, where themes of nature, consciousness, and the universe frequently overlap. The dandelion often carries associations of fragility and wishes, or the spreading of ideas, while the obscured, celestial face removes individuality, turning the figure into something more universal.
